Looking for cat towers

Do you have a cat tree in your home with no cats sitting on it? WAG would welcome a donation for our cats. We're setting up a room where our rescue kitties can stretch their legs, play and watch the world outside through big sunny windows. Cats love to climb, so we hope to give them plenty of places to romp. Drop us an email at wagwalton@yahoo.com or call (770) 207-1896 if you'd like to donate.

Paradox Clinic is growing!

Congratulations to our friends at Paradox Spay Neuter Clinic on their new location! The facility at 1200 Industrial Park Way, Loganville is much bigger, brighter and a great step up for the low-cost spay/neuter clinic. Make your spay/neuter appointments at www.paradoxspayneuter.com. Come visit them and see the changes!

Another Happy End

Remember Princess, one of Honey's nine puppies? Here she is - renamed Izzy. She's growing fast. Thanks to the Page's for giving her a fantastic home!

Jack's Journey

One of our rescue dogs, a shepherd/hound mix named Jack, met lots of new friends on this bright and sunny Sunday morning. We drove to the Monroe airport to meet Tom and Stephanie Campbell and their daughter Keira, along with Tom and Kim Heagy, who offered their plane/pilot services and organizing skills to start Jack on his journey home.

Gas up the Grummen Tiger, we're ready to fly!

After some pre-flight preparation, everybody got together for the good-bye photos.

Our two able-bodied pilots, Tom and Tom, were ready to fly. Jack climbed in and took a spot with Kim, his back seat companion. He was excited - this was gonna be FUN!

CHEESE!!!!!!

Jack's happy snout is visible right behind Tom's orange sweatshirt.

On the way at last!

Who needs a seat when a lap is available?

After landing in Somerset, KY, Jack took off again with pilot Ryan Allen headed toward Indianapolis.

Last leg of the trip was Indianapolis to Chicago with pilot John Cook. Everyone reported Jack was the perfect traveler - quiet and polite!

All these pilots are volunteers with Pilots 'n Paws, a non-profit organization of private pilots donating thousands of air miles to help pets like Jack.

After landing in Chicago, new friend Jon Nelson picked Jack up. He's settling into his new home and will soon meet his adopter, Frank! Congratulations to everyone on an awesome job - Jack was lucky to have so many dedicated pals helping him to his Happy-Ever-After ending.

A giant WAG Thank You to everyone who took part today, as well as Jenny Sisson Dove for taking great care of and fostering Jack these last few months, and Stephanie for pulling everything together. Y'all rock!

Adoption weekend

Come visit us in Loganville for Petsmart's national adopt-a-thon weekend Saturday 2/23 and Sunday, 2/24. Lots of wonderful dogs and cats are looking for their new homes! We'll be there from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.

Homeward Bound, at last!

Jack will finally be on his way home this weekend! He was adopted in October, but it took awhile to get everything set for this trip to his new home near Chicago. Congratulations to his new owner, Frank.

Also thanks are due to to some awesome WAG volunteers and the non-profit organization Pilots and Paws www.pilotsnpaws.org, a group of private pilots offering their flight time to save rescued animals.

Jack will leave Sunday morning enroute to his new home via a three step journey: from Monroe GA to Somerset, KY to Greenwood IN to Chicago. Thanks to our volunteer pilots Tom (both of them!), Ryan and John. A big hug to Stephanie for coordinating the trip.

We'll post some pics soon!

Brenda needs our help

Emergencies happen when you least expect them! Our sweet Brenda, one of Honey's puppies, was rushed to the emergency vet clinic with stomach pains. X-rays showed a foreign body in her intestines and the vet recommended immediate surgery.

The total cost for Brenda' surgery was by East Metro Animal Emergency Clinic was $1766.16. We paid $500 deposit, balance to be paid tonight. Look at what they found inside her stomach and intestines! Somebody needs to tell Brenda she's not a goat.

Brenda's surgery was extensive and she's not out of the woods yet. The next 3-5 days are critical. More doggy prayers for Brenda, please.

Any help with Brenda surgery expenses are GREATLY appreciated!

Emergency for Brenda

Emergencies happen when you least expect them! Our sweet Brenda, one of Honey's puppies, was rushed to the emergency vet clinic with stomach pains. X-rays showed a foreign body in her intestines and the vet recommended immediate surgery. She's having surgery as we write this. In the morning we'll take her to our regular vet for post-surgery monitoring.

The surgery estimate is $1,400. All donations are appreciated - this is a big financial challenge, but we couldn't let Brenda suffer.

Doggy prayers for our pup!
