Info re:our adoption event weekends

Thanks for checking out WAG's blog. We've been posting news here for several years, but plan to use it more in the future for volunteer news and updates, particularly our plans for adoption events and other opportunities.

We only have one foster family currently working weekend adoptions, so our 2012 schedule has occasionally varied. But to make sure we keep volunteers well-informed in the future, here's our plan: WAG is committed to be at Petsmart in Loganville on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  for adoptions. Volunteers will be used inside at the cattery and also outside with the dogs.

We may also hold adoptions on other weekends and will post on this blog when we plan on coming out.  Adoptions are very important to us, but sometimes our non-rescue lives take center stage and we need to be elsewhere on Saturday/Sunday.

Petsmart holds National Adoptathon weekends four times each year - in Feb. May, Sept. and Nov. On those weekends, we join another rescue group at the Conyers Petsmart on Saturday and come to Loganville on Sunday. We'll post those scheduled dates later.

Volunteers are welcome to help us any weekend, or we'll be glad to schedule specific days/times for you.

Occasionally weather may interfere. We don't take animals out for adoptions when severe rain and thunderstorms are predicted - many of the dogs get very frightened in bad weather.

If for any reason we cancel a planned adoption day, we will post a notice on this blog no later than 9:30 a.m. the day of the event. So before heading out to volunteer, check this space to make sure our plans haven't changed. MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE "VIEW COMMENTS" BUTTON UNDER THE POSTS IN CASE ONE OF OUR VOLUNTEERS POSTS THE CANCELLATION MESSAGE!

You can also subscribe to this blog to be notified of any new posts. Move your mouse over the left side of top navigation bar and click on the word "Follow."

Thanks for supporting WAG! We hope to see you soon!
